IONE, CA – October 10, 2015 - On Saturday, October 10, the Ione Business & Community Association (“IBCA”) sponsored the annual Harvest Faire on cornstalk-decorated Main Street in Ione. Boy Scout Troop 477 served a pancake breakfast at the Ione Fire Dept as vendors erected their tents & displayed their wares. The main event was the giant pumpkin contest. Jim Carr of Volcano won $1,250 for his 555lb pumpkin, besting Auburn’s two-time champ Randy Warren’s 538 lb fruit. Audrey Warren took home the $500 1st prize for 17 & under with her 484 lb beauty & youngster from Ione won $375 for 2nd place. Cash prizes were also awarded to winners of the Best Decorated or Carved pumpkins, best Scarecrow and Chalk the Walk events. Many local businesses, including major sponsor Jackson Rancheria, donated generously to make the Harvest Faire a huge success.
